About the Department​​

The Department of Arts at Christ College of Science and Management, Malur, is a vibrant hub for creative expression and academic exploration. Psychology

The Psychology program delves into the complexities of human behaviour, cognition, and emotions. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of psychological principles and methodologies, preparing them for careers in various fields, including clinical psychology, counselling, research, and human resources. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, such as cognitive psychology, social psychology, developmental psychology, and abnormal psychology. Language

The Language program at Christ College offers students the opportunity to study Tamil, Kannada, and English. The curriculum focuses on deepening students' understanding of linguistic structures, enhancing their communication skills, and immersing them in the rich literary traditions of these languages. Students explore various aspects of language, including linguistics, language acquisition, phonetics, translation, and literature. The program emphasizes the importance of cross-cultural communication, encouraging students to appreciate diverse perspectives and foster intercultural understanding. Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA)

The Bachelor of Visual Arts (BVA) program caters to students with a passion for art and creativity. It provides a platform for students to explore and develop their artistic abilities across a wide range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, printmaking, digital art, photography, and multimedia. The curriculum emphasizes both technical proficiency and creative exploration, introducing students to diverse artistic techniques while fostering a strong understanding of art history, theory, and criticism. Journalism

The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including news writing, investigative reporting, digital media, media ethics, multimedia production, and broadcasting. Students gain practical skills in writing for various platforms, such as newspapers, magazines, websites, and social media, as well as producing content for television and radio. The program emphasizes the importance of ethical decision-making and responsible reporting, ensuring students are prepared to meet the demands of the modern media environment with integrity and professionalism. The faculty consists of experienced journalists and media professionals who bring their real-world expertise to the classroom. Students are encouraged to engage in storytelling that has a positive impact on society, covering issues ranging from politics and human rights to environmental concerns and cultural topics.
